In 2023, we introduced you to an exciting design journey: transforming a traditional 2-story brick colonial into a modern luxe farmhouse. Today, we’re thrilled to unveil the finished spaces, where thoughtful design meets luxurious functionality. This project began with the homeowners’ vision of blending sleek modern elements with cozy farmhouse charm—and with phase one complete, the results are nothing short of breathtaking. Let’s take a closer look at the kitchen, family room, powder room, and home office that make up this transformed first floor.
The Heart of the Home: The Kitchen
The kitchen has been reimagined as an open-concept gathering space, centered around a stunning island with ample seating. The majority of the birch wood cabinets are painted a crisp white to provide a clean and timeless foundation. To add warmth and dimension, the cabinets surrounding the refrigerator are stained in a hue called Timber.
A sleek white tile backsplash sets a neutral yet striking backdrop, complemented by open shelving around the induction range. These shelves provide both display opportunities and functional storage, keeping everyday essentials within easy reach.
The kitchen pantry is perfectly hidden by the thoughtfully designed pocket door, offering additional storage at close reach.

Lighting plays a key role in the kitchen’s inviting ambiance. Contemporary round globe light fixtures mounted above the kitchen window enhance the already abundant natural light. The farmhouse sink, complete with a gold faucet, ties the space together, combining modern elegance with farmhouse tradition. Throughout the kitchen and the entire first floor, LVF flooring provides a seamless, durable foundation that beautifully mimics the look of natural wood.
A Cozy Retreat: The Family Room
Just off the kitchen, the family room has been designed for comfort and connection. The eat-in kitchen transitions seamlessly into this cozy space, making it ideal for entertaining or relaxing with family.
The focal point of the room is the dark painted brick fireplace, which adds both warmth and contrast to the light-filled space. This touch of drama anchors the room and highlights the homeowners’ desire for a dedicated spot to unwind.

A Luxe Powder Room Update
While small in size, the powder room packs a big punch in style. Designed to reflect the overall modern luxe farmhouse aesthetic, this space features striking gold fixtures and finishes that elevate the room from ordinary to extraordinary. From the beautiful vanity to the carefully chosen lighting, every detail contributes to the cohesive look of the home.
A Modern Workspace: The Home Office
Formerly a formal dining room, the new home office is a sophisticated space that caters to today’s work-from-home lifestyle. This multifunctional room is accessible from both the kitchen and the first-floor hallway, with black-trimmed French doors providing an elegant entrance. The doors on this floor are adorned with beautiful New York plate style gold door knobs adding to the elegance of this home design.
One of the standout design elements is the back focal wall, painted a bold black and featuring transom-style windows. These windows flood the space with natural light while maintaining a sense of privacy. The consistent use of black window and door trims throughout the house ties this space to the rest of the design, ensuring a cohesive flow. This office is both functional and inspiring, providing the homeowners with a place to focus and create.
