Trust, Innovation, and Award-Winning Design: A Bathroom Remodel That Stands Above the Rest

When it comes to home remodeling, excellence is not just about creating something new—it’s about crafting a space that is both functional and breathtakingly beautiful. That’s exactly what we achieved for our Blue Bell clients, and the industry took notice. We are honored that this bathroom remodel won the prestigious 2023 Chrysalis Award for the North region of the U.S. in the $50,000 – $75,000 budget category. This recognition, sponsored by Qualified Remodeler and Kitchen & Bath Design News, solidifies our reputation as a trusted design-build firm dedicated to excellence.

Transforming a Bathroom into an Award-Winning Retreat

Black and white bathroom in Blue Bell PA

Our clients came to us with a vision: their outdated beige bathroom lacked personality, functionality, and the sense of luxury they longed for. They wanted a complete transformation, one that would elevate their daily routine into a spa-like experience.

They dreamed of replacing their bulky, outdated jetted tub with a sleek new soaking tub and giving their basic shower stall a modern upgrade. They also envisioned a transitional style that blended furniture-style cabinetry with cutting-edge technology, such as a Bluetooth-controlled shower and body sprays. To bring this vision to life, our design-build team stepped in with a plan tailored to their desires and budget.

A Seamless Design-Build Process

What sets our projects apart—especially award-winning ones—is our streamlined design-build process. From the first consultation to the final walk-through, we work as a cohesive team to ensure every detail is thoughtfully planned and executed.

For this Blue Bell remodel, we started by presenting a floor plan that maximized the available space without unnecessary structural changes that could inflate costs.

Next, we utilized advanced design software to create 3D renderings of the new bathroom, allowing our clients to virtually step inside their remodel before any construction began. This level of foresight and planning minimized unexpected changes and ensured a smooth transition from concept to reality.

    Overcoming Design Challenges with Creativity

Every remodel presents its challenges, and this one was no exception. The original layout included an underused linen closet that took up valuable space, and the homeowners wanted to avoid the cost of relocating plumbing fixtures. To address these concerns, we removed the closet to free up space for a larger shower, a soaking tub, and a spacious vanity. This strategic adjustment allowed us to fit all the must-have features without exceeding the original footprint of the bathroom.

To enhance the room’s dramatic feel, we incorporated dark, rich shower tiles with a custom glass doorless entry—adding both sophistication and openness to the space.

We balanced the deep hues with a crisp white porcelain floor and luxurious Carrara marble countertops, ensuring the room felt bright and welcoming despite the absence of natural light.

The result? A harmonious blend of textures and tones that exudes timeless elegance.

A Dream Kitchen Transformation in Phoenixville

When Alison and Ryan purchased their dream home in Phoenixville, they were captivated by its charming exterior and the serene, rolling farmland that surrounded it. However, they knew from the start that the interior needed some personalization to truly make it their own. Their vision? A warm and inviting kitchen with timeless details, blending classic country charm with modern functionality.

Breathing New Life into an Outdated Space

The original kitchen, while spacious, felt dated with its angled island, awkward ceiling details, and outdated floor tiles. The layout didn’t quite match their lifestyle. Alison and Ryan dreamed of a kitchen that was both stylish and practical—a place where they could cook, entertain, and create lasting memories.

To achieve this, we took a thoughtful approach to reimagining the space. A small wall separating the kitchen from the dining area was removed, instantly creating a more open and connected environment. The ceiling, which had an awkward soffited area due to a structural beam, was redesigned to blend seamlessly with the new layout. By incorporating custom trims and millwork, we turned what could have been a design challenge into an elegant architectural feature.

The Heart of the Kitchen: Custom Cabinetry & Timeless Design

Dark cabinets don’t have to mean a dark kitchen. By pairing rich Alder wood cabinetry with crisp white tile, light countertops, and a striking white range hood, we ensured that the space felt bright and inviting. Ample natural light floods the kitchen through a wall of floor-to-ceiling windows and doors, further enhancing the airy ambiance.

A large, square island replaced the outdated angled design, providing a more classic and functional centerpiece. It not only improves workflow but also offers generous storage and seating, making it the perfect gathering spot for family and friends.

Every detail in this kitchen was carefully chosen to reflect Alison and Ryan’s personal style. The cabinet door profiles, molding designs, and trim details were all custom-specified. Naturally aging bronze hardware and a matching faucet add depth and character, developing a beautiful patina over time—a subtle reflection of the many memories to be made in this space.

One of the most unique elements of this renovation is the handcrafted tile mural, a gift from a family member.

The mural depicts the home surrounded by its breathtaking wildflower gardens, serving as both a focal point and a cherished keepsake. It’s details like these that transform a house into a home.

Thoughtful Touches for a Warm & Welcoming Kitchen

A restored vintage door, painted in a soft shade of green, leads to the laundry room and backyard, tying in beautifully with the colors of the custom tile mural. This subtle pop of color adds warmth and personality, making the space feel even more inviting.

Another charming addition? An old-fashioned bread drawer, a special request from Ryan. This nostalgic feature not only adds a personal touch but also enhances the island’s storage capabilities.

The result is a beautifully curated kitchen that feels both timeless and lived-in—a perfect blend of old and new, where every element was chosen with care and purpose.

From Traditional to Modern Luxe: A Stunning First Floor Transformation

In 2023, we introduced you to an exciting design journey: transforming a traditional 2-story brick colonial into a modern luxe farmhouse. Today, we’re thrilled to unveil the finished spaces, where thoughtful design meets luxurious functionality. This project began with the homeowners’ vision of blending sleek modern elements with cozy farmhouse charm—and with phase one complete, the results are nothing short of breathtaking. Let’s take a closer look at the kitchen, family room, powder room, and home office that make up this transformed first floor.

The Heart of the Home: The Kitchen

The kitchen has been reimagined as an open-concept gathering space, centered around a stunning island with ample seating. The majority of the birch wood cabinets are painted a crisp white to provide a clean and timeless foundation. To add warmth and dimension, the cabinets surrounding the refrigerator are stained in a hue called Timber.

The farmhouse sink, complete with a gold faucet, ties the space together, combining modern elegance with farmhouse tradition. Throughout the kitchen and the entire first floor, LVF flooring provides a seamless, durable foundation that beautifully mimics the look of natural wood.

Designed to reflect the overall modern luxe farmhouse aesthetic, this space features striking gold fixtures and finishes that elevate the room from ordinary to extraordinary. From the beautiful vanity to the carefully chosen lighting, every detail contributes to the cohesive look of the home.

A Modern Workspace: The Home Office

Formerly a formal dining room, the new home office is a sophisticated space that caters to today’s work-from-home lifestyle. This multifunctional room is accessible from both the kitchen and the first-floor hallway, with black-trimmed French doors providing an elegant entrance. The doors on this floor are adorned with beautiful New York plate style gold door knobs adding to the elegance of this home design.

Home office with black painted focal wall and transom windows.

One of the standout design elements is the back focal wall, painted a bold black and featuring transom-style windows. These windows flood the space with natural light while maintaining a sense of privacy. The consistent use of black window and door trims throughout the house ties this space to the rest of the design, ensuring a cohesive flow. This office is both functional and inspiring, providing the homeowners with a place to focus and create.

The Modern Luxe Farmhouse Vision Realized

From the architectural plans and 3D renderings we shared last year to the fully realized spaces you see today, this transformation has been a labor of love. The combination of crisp whites, warm woods, bold blacks, and thoughtful finishes encapsulates the modern luxe farmhouse aesthetic the homeowners envisioned. Every detail, from the gold farmhouse sink faucet to the painted brick fireplace, was chosen with care to balance modern style with welcoming charm.

We hope this first floor renovation inspires you as much as it has us. Stay tuned as we keep you updated with more from this project. New Year, Newly Designed Home: Overcoming Common Design Challenges

The start of a new year is the perfect time to reflect, refresh, and reimagine your home. Whether you’re dreaming of a more functional kitchen, a stylish living room, or a cohesive design that flows seamlessly throughout your space, the journey to achieving your ideal home can come with its fair share of challenges. At Creative Contracting, we understand these hurdles and are here to guide you every step of the way.

        Common Design Challenges Homeowners Face

Every homeowner’s vision for their space is unique, but some challenges are universal. Here are three common obstacles and how we help you navigate them:

        1. Harmonizing Style and Practicality

You want a home that looks like it belongs in a magazine but also works for your daily life. Achieving this balance can be tricky. Should you go for open shelving in the kitchen, or is closed cabinetry better for keeping things organized? Can a luxurious living room also be pet- and kid-friendly?

Our design-build approach ensures that beauty and functionality go hand in hand. We take the time to understand your lifestyle and incorporate features that work as beautifully as they look. Think custom storage solutions, durable yet stylish materials, and layouts tailored to your family’s needs.

        1. Achieving Big Dreams on a Realistic Budget

Let’s face it: budgets are often tighter than our dreams. The challenge lies in making smart decisions that maximize impact without overspending. This might mean prioritizing certain areas of the home or finding creative ways to achieve a high-end look on a realistic budget.

Our team excels at value engineering: helping you make the most of every dollar. By presenting options and alternatives, we ensure you get a stunning result without breaking the bank. From selecting cost-effective materials to repurposing existing elements, we’ll find ways to bring your vision to life.

        2. Creating Cohesive Design Elements Throughout Your Home

Sometimes, the most challenging part of a renovation is ensuring all the elements work together harmoniously. Disjointed styles and mismatched finishes can leave a home feeling incomplete, even after an extensive renovation.

Our design experts specialize in crafting cohesive designs that tie every room together. Whether it’s through a unified color palette, complementary textures, or a recurring architectural motif, we’ll create a seamless flow that elevates your entire home.

        Let’s Solve Your Design Challenge

According to Real Simple Magazine, one of the top 10 renovation mistakes you’re likely to regret is not hiring a pro for guidance. Don’t make that mistake! We’d love to hear about your own design challenge.

This New Year, we’re giving two lucky winners the opportunity to jumpstart their home transformation with four hours of complimentary design time with our interior design experts.

        Here’s how you can participate:

        The Benefits of Choosing Design-Build

If you’re feeling less than satisfied with your current home in Montgomery County, PA, you’re not alone. Many homeowners find themselves dreaming of a space that better reflects their style or serves their needs more efficiently. Whether you’re considering a full remodel or just need a few updates, the key to a successful project is choosing the right approach. One option that’s gaining popularity is design-build remodeling—and for good reason. Here’s why this approach should be at the top of your list for your next home remodeling project.

        1. Streamlined Communication for a Smoother Process

With design-build remodeling, you work with a single firm from start to finish. This unified team approach eliminates the need for constant back-and-forth between different professionals. From the initial design concept to the final construction, you’ll be communicating with one team that understands your vision and has the expertise to bring it to life. Since everyone is on the same team, the process is more efficient, and you’re guaranteed smoother transitions between each phase of the project. This streamlined communication makes a huge difference in staying on track, meeting deadlines, and minimizing costly mistakes.

        1. Simplified Change Orders and Flexibility

It’s not uncommon for homeowners to make adjustments during the course of a remodel. In a design-build model, however, change orders are much easier to implement. Since the design and construction teams are working together, adjustments can be made quickly and without the need for additional hires. If you want to change the layout, update materials, or reimagine a space, the design-build firm can make those changes directly—saving you time, money, and unnecessary headaches. This flexibility ensures that the final result aligns perfectly with your vision, no matter how it evolves throughout the process.

        2. Greater Control Over Budget and Timeline

A common frustration with traditional remodeling projects is the unpredictability of costs and timelines. When different teams are working independently, you may find that budget overruns or delays become frequent as the project progresses. Since design-build firms manage both the design and construction phases, they have a clear understanding of what’s possible within your budget and timeframe from the outset. This level of oversight means you won’t have to deal with the stress of going over budget or missing important deadlines.

        3. A More Cohesive Design Vision

One of the key benefits of a design-build approach is the way it integrates design and construction. When architects, designers, and contractors work together from the beginning, the design evolves alongside the technical details of the construction process. This ensures that your vision is not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional and feasible.

        4. The Future of Home Remodeling

Design-build construction is not just a trend—it’s the future of home remodeling. According to FMI Consulting, spending on design-build projects is expected to exceed $400 billion by 2025, as more homeowners recognize the efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality it offers.

This approach has been proven to deliver consistent results across residential renovations making it a trusted method for homeowners who want a streamlined, professional, and successful remodeling experience.

How This Couple Went From Chaos to Calm With a Newly Redesigned Laundry Room

Do you love your laundry room? That was the question we asked our Lower Gwynedd clients when we began their first-floor renovation. Sara and Craig put extreme effort into designing a beautiful and functional laundry room when updating their home. The room has a simple, yet dramatic black-and-white color scheme, wainscoting for architectural detail, heavy black hooks for outerwear and bags, and a full-view back door that provides natural light and easy access to the backyard.

          When Style and Functionality Meet

When style and functionality meet, it creates a balance between aesthetic and practicality, resulting in a finished product that looks amazing and serves its intended purpose effectively. And since the laundry room is often considered the hardest working room in the home, the design must be durable and timeless.

          Puppy Approved

This laundry room is equipped with storage, folding space and a hanging rod. It features a no-fuss stainless steel sink and leathered granite for easy cleaning. The room has black fixtures and hardware that contrast the white cabinetry and soft gray walls. The ceramic tile floors and stock cabinetry are cost-effective selections without compromising a gorgeous farm-style design. Additionally, the sink in the room is used to wash off the couple’s Cavachon puppy after muddy playtime in the backyard.

Redesign Your Laundry Room With the Help of Creative Contracting

The laundry room is often subjugated to “closed door” status. Don’t let that be the case in your home. Contact Creative Contracting today to get started on a stylish and functional space you’ll love to show off.
